Gluten Screen is a free medication-screening tool that reads the inactive ingredients on any US or EU drug label and flags what could come from wheat, barley or rye. Each label is checked against a 163-entry excipient dictionary (489 name patterns, 155 FDA substance codes) and cross-referenced with four sources: DailyMed (the FDA's Structured Product Label repository), the European Medicines Agency (1,777 centrally-authorised leaflets, re-parsed October 2026), the Plogsted curated list, and Matson et al. 2025, which found gluten in 1.5% of 689 pediatric-medication NDCs. The result is one verdict per manufacturer: contains gluten, worth a call to the maker, or nothing flagged.
